Fascinator Minimalist
A minimalist headpiece for the contemporary romantic who loves an unusual style.
This version of small hat has been called fascinator in the fashion world in 17th-century Europe. It was meant to give women an alluring air of mystery.
As a jewelry designer I see it as a brooch for the head :) ...small, elegant, light, an alternative accessory that complements a minimal outfit, I imagine to wear it with the classic Little Black Dress.
I have chosen a neutral color straw for the crown and black straw for the trimming, the yellow curve line is a natural quill that gives a witty twist to the monochromatic hat. The entire piece is hand stitched by myself, no glue has been used.
For the lining I like to reuse pre-owned clothes, usually silk shirts. This is a beautiful black kimono with poetic pink flamingos I found last year in a charity shop in London.
This 'broochpiece' is my n.1 design I made for a hat.
I make it by order while the flamingo kimono lasts!
