As I mentioned few days ago, I was looking for my ideal fashion icon.
Among the few the actress Marlene Dietrich is one of my favourite. There's a photo of her wearing a men style: a pair of 40s cut black trousers and a simple elegance of a white soft silk shirt worn with stylish flair by her. My interpretation of her outfit with a sculptural Ascot hat inspired by Philip Treacy's hat.

I love the minimal style with details!
My artistic research in contemporary jewelry was around the concept of 'recycling with elegance' 🙃 now my wish is to transfer the same on my new millinery collection. During lockdown I found some straw scraps from a local milliner 😇 as I needed to experiment without the anxiety of spending money in new materials. I made this blue hat having in mind a subtle English lady in love with bows 🎀 and jewelry. A splash of natural Azurite gems I handstitched by hand is the final detail 💎 17.07.20
Last days I spent hours researching iconic actresses and models famous for their unique style. I discovered that the myth Marlene Dietrich was deeply in love with high jewelry and hats! She used to wear her collection of jewelry mostly with massive emeralds and amethysts in her movies... well those jewels are for real not fake! 💎💎 I've chosen to interpret her typical pose with a cigarette in whimsical accessories with blue and yellow pompoms 🎊 instead of her fur hat. The digital print of my watercolor drawing is in my shop, check it! Covid lockdown has showed my leading path: go back to creativity!!
Last April during the first lockdown I saw a millinery drawing challenge on Fb by chance. From that moment I started a deep passion of hats! Sustainable and eco-friendly materials are my proposals for the contemporary bride 👰 This bridal headpiece is made of 100% recycled materials: a milk bottle 🍼and a garlic net 🧄! Yes I know, isn't it fantastic? 💫 Since my first steps in the millinery world 2 months ago, I wanted to make some hats with recycled material. Especially I was looking for an alternative to feathers used for the trimmings. One morning I had an idea while preparing breakfast for my son.🍼The translucent opacity together with the softness of the British bottle of milk inspired me. A new baby hat was born, the eco-sustainable hat for ethical brides! So satisfied of the result! |
